We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with 3–5 years of experience to join our finance team in Jordan. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in general accounting and exposure to SaaS business models, payment gateways, and sales tax compliance. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform monthly closings, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
SaaS Accounting & Revenue Management
- Support subscription billing and revenue recognition in line with SaaS accounting principles.
- Track and report key SaaS metrics such as MRR, churn, CAC, and CLTV.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment for deferred revenue and subscription renewals.
Payment Gateway & Reconciliation
- Manage and reconcile transactions from payment gateways such as Stripe, PayPal, HyperPay, or similar platforms.
- Reconcile gateway reports with bank statements and accounting records.
- Handle refunds, chargebacks, and disputes in coordination with customer support teams.
Tax & Compliance (Jordan Focus)
- Ensure compliance with Jordanian Sales Tax (GST) regulations, especially for digital and SaaS services.
- Prepare sales tax reports and support timely tax filings.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors when required.
Financial Reporting & Audit Support
- Prepare periodic financial reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal financial controls.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automation.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance financial reporting and systems.
- Stay up to date with accounting standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Experience with payment gateways and transaction reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to explain financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Hands-on experience with GCC accounting, VAT, and regional compliance requirements.
